LOGON BEACH
1. KOKAY’S MALDITO
Right in the middle of Logon Beach is Kokay’s Maldito. A restaurant, bar, disco, music lounge with billiards and internet. The restaurant has a great selection of local and international food, from early breakfast, light lunch or even a romantic dinner at the seaside and even up to late snacks.
I only had breakfast here and stayed a good number of hours just lounging the morning away. Food is good. Staff is really great. Loved it here.
Here is a signage at the crossroads going to Logon Beach, Bounty Beach and inner Logon.
Their sites say rooms will soon be available.

2. ANGELINA
I love Italian food and was I surprised to find an Italian restaurant tucked away towards the end of Logon Beach, past White Sands Bungalows and right where Tepanee and Logon Beach Resorts are. Even more surprising is how delicious the food here is! I had loved eating at this place. Some say this is one of the best places to eat at in Malapascua.
Although the food can take some time to get served, it is worth the wait. That being said, you should not go here if you are already starving. Be prepared to wait. The restaurant has an indoor area as well as outdoor tables, with a view of the beach.

I didn’t know Angelina had rooms, and boy, do they look great! Click here to visit their website and some more from Rainbowfish, the company that did the photos for their website. Also, read what one blogger has to say about her dining experience at Angelina. Some also agree that this is one of the best places to eat in Malapascua.
I think I already know where I’ll be staying next time I go over to Malapascua, this time with diver’s license in hand – Angelina, with great rooms and delicious food!
3. LA DOLCE VITA
This is another Italian restaurant in Logon Beach, right next to Kokay’s Maldito. It is set farther away from the beach and the beachfront is given some shade by trees. It is a quiet place that would be good for a date for two. I found this place to be too quiet to the point of being depressing; service was really slow and food was, unfortunately, so-so. Granted, I only tried the pizza and a mango shake – but I was not impressed.
Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet posted a great review of this restaurant back in 2006. I read it and found out that the La Dolce Vita restaurant that he experienced is the “old” resto. The great food went with the old owners who has put up a new restaurant – and guess what it is? Angelina! Hah-hah! Amazing.

INNER LOGON
1. LA ISLA BONITA
Set in the humble surroundings of Logon Village, past Ging-ging’s Garden Restaurant, suave little La Isla Bonita serves up a range of fresh, quality ingredients cooked in a variety of styles, but always with care. Food here is still rated as the best on the island – at least that was according to my Lonely Planet 2006 edition book.
So off I went to sample the cuisine, I had naturally assumed it was open for lunch, but this is what I found.
Sign said “We open at 6 pm”. The book did say it was open from 8am-2pm but maybe during peak season? Is February considered an off peak season in Malapascua? Anyhow, I did come back for dinner, determined was I to have a taste of “the best food in the island”. True enough, food was great, though it took some time to get cooked and served, considering that at that time there was only one other table occupied. Although soon enough, the place filled up with families and friends out to have a great dining experience in this quiet little place off the beach.
2. GING-GING’S GARDEN RESTAURANT
Set in a pretty garden in Logon village, Ging-ging’s offer the very best economy dining in the island (LP, p.253) – and off I went for lunch on the very first day I arrived in Malapascua.
This place might be a little hard to find as there are no clear roads in the island except for dusty walking tracks, but since the island is small, you are bound to find everything within walking distance. If you get lost in the various tracks, you can always ask around.
I sat on the table right beside this map of the island, while I waited for my orders of seafood and of course, pancakes. Food is delicious and cheap, just ignore or swat at the flies every now and then.
BOUNTY BEACH
1. MABUHAY BAR AND RESTAURANT
This place is easy to miss, but this is where I found myself hanging out with a glass of delicious mango shake one hot afternoon, while I idly enjoyed the view of the beach.
This little place is located towards the end of Bounty Beach, near Blue Corals Resort and the walking track that leads to inner Logon and Logon Beach.
It has a generally native design, with little huts for big groups. It seemed popular to local Cebuano families on a little weekend trip.
2. OSCAR’S BAR AND RESTAURANT
I had wanted a shady restaurant to have my breakfast at in Bounty Beach, and Oscar’s, on the second floor of a dive shop proved just the right place.
I just ordered a British breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! No wonder some tourists say this, along with Angelina, is one of the best restaurants to eat at in Malapascua.
It’s got a great view of the beach too.
I took this photo of a map of dive sites outside the bar and the dive shop.
3. BLUEWATER MALAPASCUA BEACH AND DIVE RESORT
Another good place to eat at (and also stay) is the Malapascua Beach and Dive Resort. My friends stayed here when they came over. You can read Roma’s blog on it here.
Found somewhere in the middle of Logon Beach, it offers a good view of the beach. I did not get to eat here though, so with regards to the food, your guess is as good as mine. 😛
Check out their website here.
4. BLUE CORALS BAR
This is really more of a bar than a restaurant. I’m not sure if meals can be ordered from here, but this is a great place to hang out at during sunset. They have a sunset hour when you can order Buy 1 Take 1 cocktails!
Whatever it was I ordered was not so good though so you be careful with ordering your drinks. I suggest going for a common cocktail to be on the safe side. That being said, this bar is only open from sundown onwards, since it can be really hot here during the day. Unless you’re checked in at Logon Beach Resort, I have to say this is the best place to enjoy the sunset with drinks and chill out.
wow, ganda nman ng view
ha, so you do have the lonely planet book 😛
tried the la isla bonita too as suggested by the book and it wasn’t dissapointing. i actually liked their food. i also ordered in advance so when we got back there, food was served a few minutes later 😛
and i ♥ malapascua’s sunsets.
I was in Cebu again earlier this month. I preferred to eat at Oscar’s Pub and Restaurant and Angelina’s the entire time. 😉
Yes I do have the Lonely Planet book. The 2006 one at least.
There’s a new one out now and I wonder what it says now there. Hahaha!
I now officially LOVE your blog!!! This is an amaaaaazingly useful post! I’ve just bookmarked it as I plan to get back there next trip over!
Oh wow, thank you! I try to be as useful as I much as I can with the blogs. Have you seen this? I’m quite proud of it because I put SOOO much effort into it, so please share if you can. Hahaha! http://www.angkulet.com/2012/11/15/el-nido-palawan-accommodations-map-and-master-list/ This too might be helpful for those looking to spend the night/s at Nacpan. http://www.angkulet.com/2013/03/20/getting-to-and-accommodations-at-nacpan-beach-el-nido-palawan/
Awesome. Just bookmarked them for myself, and tweeted them for everybody else. The one on El Nido really is arranged as a traveler thinks — more about where they want to be than how much they want to spend (ie, the lonely planet paradigm). Kudos!
MABUHAY BAR AND RESTAURANT??? The people sucks especially the owner, itago natin sa pangalan na Ramon at Sonya!!! Ang papanget ng mga ugali , akala mo naman ang sarap ng pagkain, yun pala may dugo pa yung chicken, na pinipilit pang ipaubos sa amin! We will never recommend this place. The only restaurant in d WOLD (as per Ramon’s enunciation) na di uso ang service water. No sense of customer service! No service water!
Hi Flong,
I was just there first week of March and though the place can be quite unwelcoming, medyo hindi malinis amg paligid, hindi maganda ang food presentation, madaming langaw at pusa, wala kang masyadong maasahan in terms of service as I had to get my own utensils and table napkins, it is still one of the very few restaurants in Malapascua island where there is Filipino food. I especially loved the lechon in the buffet, and after eating German, French, Irish, English, Mexican, and Italian food for weeks, I just had to eat Filipino and was thankful.: )
I hope though they would improve.
Cheers!
