The first Penafrancia Tattoo Arts Festival was held at the Wharf Galley in Avenue Square in September 2011. I was really proud of Celsa, the woman behind Whuatt?!!! Production, as I am now. Please support.

Yes, there is also a music scene in Naga City.
And because I love Karl Roy and saw him perform last at Wharf Galley Avenue Square in Naga City December last year, I am reposting this event, to whatever end it serves.
The event page is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/329165003841245/
One of Naga City’s local bands, Monoacid, will be the opening act. I am a fan of Monoacid too and miss the band. Hope they can come up with another album soon. P.S. I miss you Bornok. Hope to see you and the rest of the guys soon. I miss having after-closing way-early-morning breakfast with you at Sir Karlos in Ateneo Avenue.

One gloomy and rainy July morning, I found myself in Naga without a place to stay at. Hotel check-ins are usually at two in the afternoon, and my bus pulled in at the Central Business District (CBD) Terminal of Naga City at six in the morning.
One of my friends’ family owned this little resort and spa in San Felipe, and this is where I found myself for 12 hours.
RAMASHINTA RESORT AND SPA
Ramashinta Resort and Spa is a Balinese-inspired spa-resort that boasts of a grand recreational pool, children’s pool, fully equipped cabanas with majestic interiors, exclusive massage rooms for men and women, a charming garden, a multi-purpose function room, and a clubhouse/ restaurant that serves a wide array of delectable dishes. A Balinese paradise right in Naga City.

I was in need of a little nap and a swim, so I headed over to the little resort. They gave me one of the cabanas. Mine is the one with the slightly open doors and yellow curtains.

Johnoy’s gig was actually supposed to be on May 7th, but Typhoon Bebeng (Related story: Bebeng Threatens Bicol Region) came lashing down on the entire region with strong winds and heavy rains, which caused Johnoy and his team, on a Cebu Pacific plane that hovered above the Pili Airport for some time waiting and hoping to land to no avail, to come back to Manila. Incidentally, that also spoiled our Pacquiao vs Mosely plans at Ramashinta Resort & Spa, as well as my Mother’s Day Special at Stonehouse Gardens.

Poster layout by Ver Estotsenberg
This is the old poster, which we released back when Wharf Galley Rock Cafe was still at its old location in Elias Angeles St., near Nagaland Hotel and our partner printing press was Goldprint. This was also back in the time when I thought one could make do with only a few sponsors here and there (and boy, was I so wrong!)
