Along with the new logo (awesome logo by the way), is the new venue and new poster for Cross Fade Productions‘ No Ordinary Summer gig with full-set performances from FrancoUrbandubQueso with Salamin and Dhruva Tara.

The venue has been moved to the B-Side courtyard, with the same ticket price. All previous ticket holders can use the same ticket.

A 50 mile run around the circumference of the world’s most perfect coned volcano, Mt Mayon Volcano. Organized by the Junior Chamber International – Legazpi Chapter in cooperation with Liga ng mga Barangay – Albay Chapter and sanctioned by the Philippine Association of Ultrarunners. Sponsored by the Provincial Government of Albay, Governor Joey S. Salceda, and the Magayon Festival 2012.

Be a part of history, be one of the few to have run around this world famous volcano.

Mayon 360  Facts

Famous for its “Perfect Cone”, the Mayon Volcano is the Philippines’ most active volcano and the most popular tourist destination in the Bicol Region. With a height of 2,463 meters, it is the centerpiece of the Albay province

This run will cross 7 Municipalities, 3 cities, and 77 Barangays

A Total distance of 50Miles (80kms)

All paved roads, with close to 60 percent asphalt and 40 percent concrete

Dakila – Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism, Yadu 621, and Bikekada – Manila Urban Cycling Group will be having its 2nd Ride and Rock Relief in partnership with The Collective, Manila Fixed Gear, POWPinay, Folding Bike Pilipinas, Tryon Marketing, MTB Brothers, Kaffir, Calle, Surf United Philippines, Mochiko, and Mr. Zaldy Austria.The 1st Ride and Rock Relief happened in December 29, 2011 in an effort to help the victims of Sendong in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro. An initiative of Dakila – Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism, POWPinay, and Yadu 621, in partnership with Tiktok Pilipinas, BSide, TatTulungan, MTB.PH, The Firefly Brigade, Folding Bike Pilipinas, and Mr. Zaldy Austria, Ride and Rock Relief brought together musicians, cyclists, tattoo artists, and volunteers to join forces in the efforts to raise funds and gather relief goods for Sendong victims.

This time, the Ride and Rock Relief will be for the benefit of the monsoon victims in Malabon City through Gawad Kalinga.

Butanding Festival May 14-20, 2012 Events

Butanding Festival is held every summer in the Municipality of Donsol in the Province of Sorsogon. It is held in honor of the gentle giants that are the whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) and their annual return to the vicinity of Donsol. Contributing greatly to the development of the town’s economy and tourism, the whale shark’s peak attendance is  annually anticipated and greatly welcomed by the locals who are directly involved in looking out for the butanding’s well-being.

With the continual increase of sightings of the whale sharks, Butanding Festival would be celebrated more grandly to celebrate and compliment the population increase of the whale sharks. A week-long activity, Butanding Festival would feature all the anticipated festival trimmings of themed parades, street dancing, delicious delicacies, fun music, and much, much more.

FESTIVAL EVENTS

CULINARY FEST

Aimed to showcase the locality’s delicious native dishes, food lovers can dig in and indulge on the great number of grilled, stewed, boiled, braised, fried, and smoked food choices. From Bicol Express, laing, pinangat, and kinunot to pili preparations and more, the flavors of Bicol await local and foreign foodies. The week-long food fair offers Bicolano foods and delicacies for everyone to enjoy.


PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

With the natural beauty of Donsol as a ready backdrop, captured moments throughout the festival will surely leave lasting impressions and good memories worth recalling and sharing with friends. Photographers across the region and the country are invited to take part in this competition and make a full creative use of their lenses as they capture the stories unknowingly told by people, the butanding, and the festival.
