The forum aims to gather experts and multi-sectoral groups to discuss and gain a shared understanding of the state of Philippine biodiversity, discuss current threats and projections, and proposed responses to this rising crisis.

Unlike the wedding in 2006 when we did every single little thing ourselves, from sourcing suppliers down to writing on the invite envelopes, I did not want to deal with anything DIY for Lia’s birthday. Not because we can afford it but because we could not afford the time, all the effort and energy needed to do it all ourselves. Or even do it all MYSELF since this party was my idea anyway and it was what mothers did for their kids. So I looked all over the internet for kiddie party packages and stumbled onto the Cinco de Mayo Events site on Multiply. Out of all the packages Google got for me, from Metro Manila all the way to Cebu(!), Cinco de Mayo Events had the lowest kiddie party packages with almost everything I needed or wanted.

This event has been postponed of course for the time being. The new date and venue has not been announced yet as a number of members and alumni, me and my family included, are still coping with the aftermath of Ondoy. Water was over the top of our heads at 2am on Sunday, September 27^th in Pasig. The Cruz’s, Abet and Hush, had to be evacuated from their home in Nangka, Marikina. Jill Masalonga, Eshei Mesina and a number of Repists from Marikina had homes submerged in water as well. We are all hoping things will get better soon.

* For group reservations, please send your registration forms in one file & email.

I am not really very sporty. I don’t know any ball games. I don’t play any ball games. I do swim and surf. There are no balls there. I play badminton. No balls there either. Just cocks. Shuttle cocks.

So anyway, the last time I played badminton was back when I was living in El Nido. And we only played in the middle of the street, or sometimes, if the court is free and devoid of basketball players, at the municipal multi-purpose court.

But I’m gonna go play this time. It’s all in the spirit of fun… and games.. and camaraderie.. and so on and so forth.

This event is free so head to 3/F (Core Room) R.O.X at Bonifacio High Street at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig on Thursday, June 25 7PM.

My friend Cedric Valera of Travel Factor will be doing the talk on Offbeat Traveling.

Since this is a Thursday night, I wish I could come but I can’t. Maybe when the baby is older and when a sitter is around. Til then!
