At the Earthdance Manila 2012

Music and Arts By September 29, 2012 Tags: , , , , , , , 1 Comment

In support of Earthdance Manila 2012 and our friends who were participating in it, we went to Arts in the City at Bonifacio Global City on that September evening. I wanted to support as a volunteer but I had my daughter with me, so we just participated in the event. Lia had a great time in the Galactic Room with Diyosa and all the indigenous instruments and the artists and performers who were just jamming and hanging out. It was so much fun!

Click here for more photos of the event from Diyosa’s Facebook.

We went around the bazaar and bought all kinds of things. But mostly, we ate a lot! It was more of a food trip than anything else. (I’ve taken to wearing my newest favorite shoes everywhere.)

EARTHDANCE Manila 2012 – Sept 23

Music and Arts By September 20, 2012 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , 1 Comment

One whole day of *Art+Culture+Music+Dance+Prayers+Ritual+Workshops+Eco Bazaar*

This year we come together once again in celebration of the annual Earthdance 2012 Global Festival for Peace, aligned with the International Day of Peace, held in 500 locations and 80 countries around the world, including the Philippines. Since its inception in 1997 it has become the largest Dance and Peace event in the world.

This year, we’re inviting you to dance your way to a cleaner Philippines. With our city under water after only a few minutes of strong rain, never has it been more obvious that our attitude to trash needs a serious overhaul. It’s time to ditch the junk once and for all and get funky. We have a great line up of local and foreign bands, music and workshops, a solar powered dance-floor, a trash converter and much much more. All proceeds from this year’s festival will go towards the “Litter-Free/Flood-free Country” Project. For starters, we mean to buy enough proper garbage bins to give to every home in Metro Manila. “EarthDance Festival Manila 2012: More Funk, Less Junk.” Let’s get moving!
