It was a really fun Easter activity for the kids last Sunday at the Greenhills branch of Young Artists’ Studio.

Lia had been really looking forward to this egg painting activity and she was delighted to see the venue. The Young Artists’ Studio is located inside Sound Learning Therapy Center on the 3rd floor of the Promenade Bldg. at the corner of Wilson St. and P. Guevarra St., Greenhills, San Juan.

She also made friends. Lia likes making friends. I love that about my daughter. It’s never difficult to bring her anywhere and I never have to worry about how she will interact with other kids, her age or even older.

Lia is 3 years old so I don’t really have a lot of expectations. I just want her to do things so I provide opportunities for her to have things to do other than just stay home with me. I was glad to know that she and the teachers had a good time.

The kids really had a good time. You can tell from the following photos. It was so nice to see them all looking happy and proud of what they’ve done.

Lia for her part, thought it was a “mystery egg” and that if she took care of it, it would have a surprise inside! She took care of it so well the past days that we brought it with us everywhere.

She didn’t want her photo taken with the rest of the group as she was busy with this toy….

… so the group instead moved to the couch where she was seated and had a photo taken with her. These kids are soooo nice! I love them!

Young Artists’ Studio is another baby of my friend Avie Felix and a partner. Avie is the Program Director of YAS, in addition to being an art teacher. We met in college, when we did the one-act play Dolores for The U.P. Repertory Company. It was so nice to see her again! And what’s even nicer was, another Repist, Cris, was also there Sunday. We have not seen each other in so many years!!! So we really had to have a photo of us three together taken.

As a side story, I have always thought Cris dark-skinned. But look, I’m even darker in this photo! I knew I have been sunburned 5x over, but I didn’t really realized how much that actually is in terms of melanin!

I have enrolled Lia for this summer’s Art Class for Beginners at YAS Greenhills. The classes are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, from 10am to 12 noon, for a total of 10 sessions; but there are students who are only going to the Saturday classes because they cannot go on weekdays. They get to go 10 Saturdays I guess.

If you are interested in any of the classes at Young Artists’ Studio, please check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ArtWorkshopsPhilippines/info and the following schedules for this summer’s classes: Young Artists’ Studio Summer Workshops. Check out the class availability and schedules at a branch near you.

Also, you may wanna drop by Eastwood on April 18-21 for this:
