I’ve been watching these videos ever since I saw them on my Facebook news feed, posted by Nick in his attempt to distract people from the fact that Boy Abunda plugged him on SNN. Hahaha. Also, this song always makes me think of my friend Lizzie.

Lizzie, Tin and Angku at Angku's bridal shower, October 2006

She sang it on videoke on that night we had a get-together in Discovery Suites.

OBLADI OBLADA

Desmond has his barrow in the market place…
Molly is the singer in a band…
Desmond says to Molly “Girl, I like your face”
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on.

Desmond takes a trolley to the jewelry store…
Buys a twenty carat golden ring…
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door…
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on.

In a couple of years they have built a home sweet home,
With a couple of kids running in the yard,
Of Desmond and Molly Jones… (Ha ha ha ha ha)

Happy ever after in the market place…
Desmond lets the children lend a hand…
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face…
And in the evening she still sings it with the band…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on…
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on.

And if you want some fun…take Ob-la-di-bla-da (Thank you)

I love watching this little boy’s videos because:

1. He is such a good performer!
2. He is so good with the music that he can play Obladi Oblada even though he can’t pronounce the lyrics well. I am assuming he can’t talk very well yet.
3. He bears a very strong resemblance to my 5-year old nephew, Sean!!

4. I can only wish my daughter can be or will be anywhere nearly as good. Thing is, from whom will she inherit that musical talent? LOL.

Anyway, if you’re still unconvinced about how good he is, here is another video. I can watch (or listen to this) over and over again the entire night. Thanks Nick for the link. 🙂
